Salt Lake City, Utah

Salt Lake City is seeing an increase in heroin use in the city.  This can be attributed to the low cost of the heroin so it is reaching school age children in the area.

The low cost of heroin has contributed to an increase in its use among school-age youths in some parts of the country, including the Wasatch Front, where the drug’s use among teens and others has been on the rise the past five years, multiple police agencies said Wednesday.

“We are seeing school-aged children involved in heroin use,” Cottonwood Heights police officer Beau Babka told KSL Newsradio. “The supply, demand, the price all add up to unfortunate disaster.

Drug addiction can be overcome and does not have to consume your life.  Drug addiction treatment offers support and education to school systems, families and the addict themselves.
