The Marines are helping children in Okinawa, Japan with the help of the DARE program that was started in the 1980’s as a way to educate children about drug abuse.

Programs like this really help drive the children not to start using drugs and be able to notice if their parents are using and if that’s a problem and give them the knowledge to call a drug addiction treatment center for help.

“This is an awesome program. It shows kids the good and bad sides of everything and how to stay on the right side of the law,” said Gunnery Sgt. Nester Antoine, chief trainer, MP Support Co. “I’m a father myself, so I always like coming out here to interact with the kids.”

That’s great news that we can expand the message of drug free living to the east!
