Former Drug Addict Helps

Ms. Lamarr was incarcerated for drug related activity and is now giving back to the community and to the jail by going back and teaching the drug addicts how to overcome their drug addiction.
Five days a week, Lamarr runs Choices, a program at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City that teaches nearly 200 inmates “social survival skills” through parenting classes, math lessons, GED preparation and a variety of workshops.
Inmates that return to prison to help their fellow drug addicts are part of the solution to help people over come addiction.
Drug addiction treatment also offers people who are incarcerated ways to get the help they need and to get them back on the track of being drug free.
