Drug Addiction

The new report just came out that claims that illegal drug use has risen to it’s highest level since they started the survey back in 2002.  More teenagers 12 or over have experimented with illegal drugs in their lives than ever before.

This is shocking to a point but then again if you look at the society you would realize why it is increasing.

The annual report says about 21.8 million Americans, or 8.7 percent of the population age 12 and older, reported using illegal drugs in 2009. That’s the highest level since the survey began in 2002.

There is an increase in marijuana and ecstasy use during this time period as well. We need to get to a point where this increase becomes a decrease and fast.

The study also tracked a surge in ecstasy and methamphetamine use, but found a sharp increase in marijuana use, which researchers found rose by 8 percent and remained the most commonly used drug.
