Heroin Addicted Babies
Drug Addicted babies is not something that has started recently. There have been thousands of drug addicted babies born in the United States over the course of time but what seems to be different is the amount of babies being born to heroin addicts. Heroin is babies is very serious, much they same as an adult except it’s a smaller body and they are less likely to be able to handle the strain on their bodies that the heroin does to them.

Many babies born are premature, low birth weight, breathing problems and withdrawal symptoms. Most babies have to placed on morphine for detoxification of their little bodies. Babies that are released from the hospital don’t always go on to lead “normal” lives. Many have learning development issues and some mental retardation.
Drug Treatment centers offer a way out of drug addiction. If you or someone else you know is addicted to heroin and pregnant please get help immediately. You are not only doing it for yourself but you are doing it for your unborn child.

Advocacy is a great way to get the word out about drug addiction and children. Too many children are born into addiction. Start writing blogs about drug addicted babies and the harmful effects on them.
I would also like to help.
My 24 year old little sister is five months pregnant, and she is still shooting heroin. I don’t know what to do, I live 3 1/2 hours away from her, and my mother gives in to her lies.
