Intervention

Community Drug Education

" It would be nice to tell you that I made some spiritual breakthrough and saved myself, but the fact is that I didn't."

These are the actual words of someone whose life was saved through an intervention.

Intervention - Crack House

Crack House Inside

"My family and friends guided me and forced me into rehab and for that I will be forever grateful because I am alive. I live. I enjoy every day now, especially knowing where I would have been had I been allowed to go where the drugs were leading me. My family's help will always be a debt I owe because without it I'd be gone."

We were called by a mother desperate for help. Her daughter had run away, and she needed help with an intervention. Our team went to a crack house where this young woman had been staying doing drugs for several days.

The intervention was successful! This is part 1 where they are on their way to the crack house.

Crack houses are are houses, open areas, such as flea market properties, or motels that facilitate drug trafficking, promote crime within neighborhoods, and cause neighborhood disintegration and destruction.

The Interventionist

What does a drug intervention do?

Many family members have asked the question "“Why can’t he/she just stop drinking or taking drugs?”

This lack of understanding can, at times, cause more problems than is needed, as the family member will try things to get the addict to stop taking drugs, without really understanding the situation, and is often frustrated by their lack of success.

These conditions are the by-product of drug addiction. The drug addict lies to everyone, things start missing around the house, and the dishonesty conveyed is proportionate to the severity of the addiction. These things are apparent to those living with an addict.

In many cases the work of a highly trained drug intervenionist is needed. This is someone who has been trained to effectively and firmly get the person out of the situation they are in and into a place they can get help.

Trained in talking to someone who denies using drugs, is often high or drunk to begin with, the intervenionist calmly and methodically gets the person to see that they need help. That is the first major step to recovery.

Narconon Realization

“I see now how over my many consecutive years of drug abuse I have closed into myself and who or what is happening around me has been ignored and replaced with m own concept of what is real inside my head.  I really do see my ignorance that was supported by my own fantasy world or reality which was created in my head.

There was no tomorrow for me when it came to my destructive behavior in all aspects of my life including my drug use.

I’m going to start working on applying a more positive life style so that those I care about will be able to see, feel and hopefully enjoy a better me.”
