Narconon Success: Freed From Prescription Drug Abuse, Part 2

Prescription Drug Abuse

Prescription Drug Abuse

This is the second part of a two part series. It is the story of one young man who changes his life from being a big time drug dealer to a successful father and husband by using Narconon resources. No names are used protect privacy.

Physically Drug Addicted

N really wanted to quit using the drugs he had gotten himself physically addicted to but he was not able to do so. The withdrawal was much too painful to be able to bear. By the time he got to the point where he realized that he did not want to use drugs anymore he was around twenty three or twenty four. He had been using them since he was around seventeen and his body was completely dependent upon them for functioning. He reassured himself that it was alright that he had too use so much of the drugs because they couldn’t be that bad for him. They were FDA approved.

DEA Steps In

It was right around this time that the DEA started watching his activity. One often hears of people being paranoid while on drugs thinking that the cops are watching them. In N’s case this was the actual reality.

N sold different drugs to this one particular kid. One week the kid got arrested for drugs. N did not think much about it when the kid came back and started purchasing more drugs from him not that long after he had been arrested. What N did not know was that the kid had made a deal with the DEA. The DEA knew that the kid had been buying drugs from N and arrested him to gain access to N. They told the kid that his charges would be dropped if he would go buy drugs from N while wearing a wire which would lead to his arrest. The kid quickly agreed and arrangements were made.

When the kid went to set up the bust however, he did not ask N to sell him anything major. Maybe the kid was trying to cut his friend as much of a break as he could while also getting himself out of trouble. He only purchased under a pound of marijuana. It was not enough for the DEA to be able to charge him with trafficking.

Because of this, the DEA turned the whole case over to the county system. At the time of his arrest, the police seized one hundred and eighty dollars from N’s home. He could not prove how he had legally acquired any of the money so none of it was ever returned to him.

Jail Time

When he got to jail, N no longer had access to the drugs on which he had become physically dependent. When coming off of opiates, the withdrawal is extremely uncomfortable, and the person coming off of it will feel extremely sick. It is not a fun ordeal and the person may feel like they might die. However, opiate withdrawal is not fatal. It is more dangerous to stay on the opiates than it is to come off of them. Coming off of benzodiazepines is extremely dangerous, however. The withdrawal is very uncomfortable, as well as being potentially fatal.

Withdrawl Seizures

When N was coming off of the benzodiazepines he began to have seizures. The jail had originally not given him anything to help ease his withdrawal, but after the seizures began, the prison official investigated the situation further. Once they found out the nature of the kind of drugs that he was coming off of they came to the realization that they had no choice but to provide N with some sort of milder benzodiazepine to ease his withdrawal. They ended up giving him clonopine, which is weaker than the xanax that he had been taking before. He was slowly weaned off of everything and did his entire withdrawal in jail.

N ended up spending five months in jail. He could have gotten out after three months of being incarcerated, but the bond that had been set for him he felt was too high to be reasonable. Eventually his bond was lowered and then he was released.

Narconon Help

Upon his release, he began to research rehabilitation centers. He did most of his research on the internet. During his search, he came across a man who was a referral specialist. N described his situation and the nature of his addiction. After accessing the entire story, including the fact that N had been quite dependent on physically addictive drugs, he gave N the recommendation to go to Narconon.

The reason that the referral specialist chose Narconon was because Narconon deals with the physical aspect of addiction. This is very important for someone who is addicted to opiates. The negative physical aspect of opiate withdrawal can last for many, many months. The person who had been addicted can even feel negative effects from the opiates some years later. Residual toxins from the opiates and others drugs are stored in the fatty tissue and are the reason that the person can still feel withdrawal symptoms for so long. Narconon is the only program that has a method of naturally removing these stored toxins from the fatty tissue through a regimen of nutrition, exercise, particular vitamins, and sweating in a dry heat sauna.

N did do the Narconon program and proved to be very effective for him. He has been clean for almost two and a half years now, and is doing very well. He decided after he finished his program that he wanted to work at Narconon for a while. He wanted to help other people rid themselves of their substance dependency since, in years before, he had contributed to supplying people with their drugs that fed their own deadly habits. After completing the Narconon program N met a very nice young lady and they are now married. He now has two children and plans on pursuing the rest of his education. He will major in computer engineering.
