Narconon Drug Rehab

One step of the Narconon program is called Objectives.  Drug addicts tend to become introverted and lose touch with everything, including themselves.  Narconon drug treatment addresses this through the Objectives portion of the program.  Former addicts get in touch with their environment and the people in it.  They also become more aware of their own feelings.  Each day Narconon students write their thoughts or successes for the day.  Here are a few days of success stories from one student:

Day 1

“I know now that I am in total control of me, my life and the things I do. I do not want or have the desire to do drugs anymore; therefore I will not do drugs again. I know I am in control of every move I make, every second of the day. I also am not above the authority of taking instruction. I am not scared to trust the good people around me. They have my best interest at hear. I am in control of who I pick for friends also. If I keep sober people around me, I will stay sober. I AM in control.”

Day 2
“I had a nice win on this exercise. It made me think about the importance of being here and also, the importance of asking for help. The people that are there to help you are important too. This will all lead to a happy, healthy life.”

Day 3
“I had a good win today. I am so thankful and lucky that I am here at the  Narconon center and sober.  I am so happy and clear minded and my state of mind is in tip top shape.  I know that I have the strength I need to see my dad for quite possibly the last time. I will remember my last days with my dad forever.”

Day 4

“I liked this exercise. I noticed detail around the room and more things in this room. Also I noticed that things are real. I am a real and I am here. I am here in this room with many things that I did not notice before. When I was using drugs I never noticed anything, not even myself in reality. It was crazy. I love being aware and sober.”

Day 5

“Today I realized that I had to put my full attention on what I was doing. Even though it was really simple to do, it’s easy to get distracted by what is going on around me. I have to give these exercises my full attention. This translates to the rest of my life. Right now my life is really simple. I am clean and wake up feeling good. If I let myself get distracted by what’s going on around me, like old friends that want to call me or whatever I could mess up my recovery and my purpose. Even though it seems easy and simple, I have to keep all my attention on staying clean. I really trust the people here at Narconon who are helping me.”

Day 6

I had a nice win on this exercise. I realized that no matter how big of a change someone wants to make, they can do it. There are steps to take or certain levels of gradient to get someone where they want to be without drugs. With hope and dedication anyone can make anything happen.  We are all in control of what we do, including stopping any destruction.
