Story Of Marijuana Abuse

This is the story of a young woman who struggled with drug addiction and finally prescription drug addiction. She looked for Narconon meetings online and found the program that she needed to get clean and stay clean. We will call her Eve to protect her identity.

Eve’s Childhood

Eve grew up in a single parent home. She was very close with her mother when she was growing up, but she also missed the father who had left when she was four. This always bothered Eve. She said that when all the other kid’s dads would show up for father functions at school, it always made her feel really sad that her dad was gone. Her mom tried very hard to give Eve everything that she could, but she had to work a lot. Eve went to private school for most of her early childhood, but when she was twelve her mom was no longer able to afford it. Eve began going to public school.

Eve Tries Marijuana For the First Time

When Eve started going to public school she became friends with one of the girls that was an outsider. Eve said that the girl smoked cigarettes and soon Eve was smoking them too. Eve said that her mother smoked and that she would steal cigarettes out of her mom’s packs. Eve’s friend, who we will call Ansley, had a mother who smoked pot with her. Ansley told Eve about it and said it was fun. Eve tried smoking pot with her friend’s mom for the first time one Friday afternoon. Eve said that she did not really get high, but the next time she smoked it she did. Eve smoked pot again with another girl that went to her new school and this time she said she definitely felt the effects. She said that she did not like it at all and it really scared her the way that she felt.

Eve said that she continued to smoke pot with her friends and she finally got used to it. Every time she smoked, she said, in the beginning she always told herself that she was never going to do it again. She said it was kind of a peer pressure type of thing. She said that she did eventually come to like the feeling however, and then once she did, she tried to do all the drugs that she could do.

Eve said the next few years were some of the worst years of her life. She said that her mother tried moving around to keep Eve out of trouble, but the problem was that everywhere Eve went she was looking for trouble. Her mother did not understand that and thought that it was the other kids around Eve that were causing the problems.

By the time Eve was fourteen she was smoking crack and doing cocaine and still smoking marijuana as well. She said that she would try almost any kind of drug that came her way except for LSD because she had heard that could be really scary. Finally her mother got to the point where she had had enough. She sent Eve to a wilderness rehabilitation school for the summer of her tenth grade year. Eve said she came back a different person. Eve said that was the best thing her mother ever could have done for her. She made a lot of new friends that year and they were friends who did not do drugs. Eve said that eventually she did start smoking marijuana again occasionally, but it was nothing like it was before when she had been out to do as many drugs as possible.

Eve Tries Prescription Pain Killers

Eve did pretty well for a while and then when she was nineteen she met an older guy where she worked. He looked very good for his age and he did not tell Eve how old he was at first. Eve thought he was only ten years older than she was, but the truth was he was really fifteen years older. They began dating. Eve said that she was really naïve at the time and even though she had smoked crack before, she had never had any experience with opiates. Her new older boyfriend was addicted to them and Eve did not even realize it.

After a while she did realize it and eventually wanted to try them. Their relationship was at a point of falling apart and her boyfriend was very possessive over Eve. It was starting to get on her nerves and she tried to leave him a couple of times only to have him beg her to take him back. Eve said she did not know how he did it, but he always wormed his way back into having a relationship with her. Eventually he started giving her prescription pain medication and Eve said that as soon as she started using opiates, she had found her ultimate drug of choice. She said that opiates gave her the feeling that she had always been looking for with other drugs. She said that after a while she just stayed with the guy because he had enough money to support both of their drug habits. When asked, she said she definitely suffered from prescription drug abuse aided by online pharmacies. She said that her boyfriend knew all the tricks of getting lots of pills for them.

Eve Gets Clean

One day Eve decided that she had had enough of her situation. She knew she was messed up and she did not want to live that way anymore. She left the guy that she was with and quit using drugs. She move back in with her mom and said that she got clean by herself with no help from anyone for a year. She said that year was pure torture and she thought about using more pills all the time. She said that it was always in the back of her head no matter what she was doing. She decided that she had ruined her body with opiates and that she was never going to feel normal or good again. Eventually Eve relapsed. When she did she went to her mom and told her that she needed to go to a rehab that was going to help her with the physical aspect of her addiction. She said opiates made her feel better on them than any other drug and worse coming off them than any other drug as well.

Eves mom looked and found Narconon on the internet. Eve was in the program within three days. Eve says that she is eternally grateful for everything that Narconon has done for her. She says that she now feels the way that she did before she ever used any drugs and she said that she never thought she was ever going to be able to feel that way again.
