Heroin addiction is something that has gripped many a life for decades.

As heroin withdrawal progresses, elevations in blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate and temperature occur. Symptoms of overdose — which may result in death — include shallow breathing, clammy skin, convulsions and coma.
