Ecstasy is most commonly used as a party drug among the late teens and early 20’s crowd. Known for it’s increased awareness, sense of touch and self confidence. This can lead to activity that can make the user spiral out of control. Drug Addiction usually occurs immediately because of the side effects that are favorable to the user. Because ecstasy is made with various combinations of drugs it makes this particular drug even more deadly. It can be made with heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and more. Many times these are combined together.

Drug Treatment centers are seeing an increased admission for ecstasy addiction due to the ease of access at clubs and/or raves. This is usually sold right in the building and the abuser feels the effects within minutes. If you think your teen or young adult is addicted to ecstasy or any other drug seek help immediately. Don’t let it be too late.

This country has an autogenic fatal disease – prescription drug abuse. It has been created from within and is feeding on itself. With this going on, our enemies have nothing to worry about – we are doing ourselves in at an escalating pace.

A lot of people have died and apparently the president has taken notice. The White House has laid out a plan. The plan includes the obvious – treatment and prevention.

However, if it is like most fixes in Washington we might not see the final result in our lifetimes and the next generation will be too doped up to think there is a problem.

Once a person has become addicted, an effective treatment method with a proven track record is the ONLY solution. An effective prevention method with proven track record is the ONLY solution in prevention.

If we fool around and make this more complex than it needs to be, a lot more people will die – unfortunately.

ASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — Obama administration officials on Thursday presented the administration’s new efforts to prevent and reduce prescription drug abuse.

Director of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Gil Kerlikowske and Benjamin B. Tucker, ONDCP Deputy Director of State, Local, and Tribal Affairs, laid out the plan that also focuses on an improved utilization of the criminal justice system to reduce drug use and its consequences.

Director Kerlikowske testified before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Health, on prescription drug abuse and recommended actions to address the “fastest-growing drug problem in the country,” highlighting data, which was released last week that revealed a more than four-fold increase in substance abuse treatment admissions. The increase in abuse specifically signaled prescription drug addiction, for those aged 12 and over between 1998 and 2008, and stressed the need for concerted Federal, state, and local action.

LSD has been known through the years as a party drug. Many people take this drug to get what they thing is an amazing high that includes trails of colors, enhanced sexual sensation, and states of euphoria. Many past users report that they still see “trails” because of the chemicals that are in the drug and the way it effects the brain.

Because of the way that LSD attacks the brain it leaves the user wanting to have that trip just “one more time”. Many people do not realize that the effects of LSD can last a lifetime after just one dose. Drug Addiction is common among users of LSD as well and many users report using other drugs in combination with LSD. Drug Treatment is the only way to get yourself away from the powerful addiction of LSD.

There are many different painkillers that are causing many people to become addicted to the pain pill long after they have recovered from what they were prescribed for. Lortab, Diluadid and Oxycontin are the top three pain medications that are frequently abused. They give the abuser a quick high that sometimes is an increase in energy. Therefore, people use it to get through their day thinking that is a way to get energy. What they don’t realize is that it can also destroy the liver due to the aspirin in the medication.

Drug addiction is very powerful and for many it becomes deadly. Have you ever filled a prescription and just put it in the medicine cabinet and forgotten about it? Make sure you know how many pills are in your bottles before you put them up, lock them up to. Don’t let your children get into your medication it only takes one time and the child can become addicted or it can become deadly. Get help for yourself or loved one today so it’s not to late. Call drug treatment today.

Different drugs effect the mind differently, but the fact remains that all drugs effect the mind. The way that drugs work and the effects you get are from the different parts of the brain it effects. All drugs are addictive in different ways as well. There is not a drug out there today that is not in some way addictive. If it wasn’t addictive then why do you want to continue to do it? Does that make sense?

Methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD and other club drugs have been known to fog the mind and let’s the user make decisions that him or her would not normally make which leads to out of control behaviors that can lead to death.

Drug addiction leads to family problems, job problems, social interactions and more. Eventually the drug itself becomes the users way of life and they feel like they can no longer live without it, often becoming their family. Don’t let this happen to you or someone you love. Call a drug rehab and get help.

There is a misconception on drug addiction when it comes to prescription drugs. Many people think that because a medication is prescribed it couldn’t be addictive. This is false. Many people that take prescription medication end up addicted to that medication because they feel like they cannot live without it. One of the most commonly used prescription drug for addiction is lortab/vicodin tablets. These are prescribed for pain routinely by Dr’s offices and ER’s for minor pain. After continuous use of the drug your body will build up an immunity to it and the user feels like they need more to compensate. This is the first stage of drug addiction.

Before you ask for prescription drugs for pain try over the counter medications such as aleve, Tylenol and motrin. These medications often times can help with the pain and there is no need for the prescription pain medication. Don’t let yourself or a loved one get addicted to these medications. Know what you are taking and what your loved ones are taking, know the warning signs of drug abuse.

Prescription Drug Abuse is a growing problem with the young population in todays society. One reason for the increase in addiction is because of the ease of access to the prescriptions. They are usually obtained through their own parents medicine cabinet. Also, Doctors tend to prescribe the highly addictive medications for pain to younger patients who don’t need them for pain but want a quick high from them.

Oxycontin is one of the fastest growing drug addiction in the country. Since it is easily accessible with legal prescriptions and being able to obtain them off the street the addiction process starts almost immediately. Oxycontin is used for pain management and is similar to morphine. It provides a euphoric effect and immediate energy. Many addicts crush the pills and snort them and a growing problem is smoking oxycontins.

The makers of the drug oxycontin is trying to curve the addiction process with different additives that would make crushing the pills obsolete so that you would not get the high from snorting the pills. This is a giant step however, swallowing the pills is still a problem that leads to addiction.

For years, Narconon of Georgia has serviced the South Carolina community with effective drug addiction treatment. About 4 years ago a client arrived from South Carolina, badly addicted to methamphetamine. In fact, the entire factory where he worked was on meth. He returned from drug rehab clean. He went home and sent a co-worker to Narconon. He also returned to South Carolina clean. Within a couple of years the entire factory was drug free and remains so to this day.

There is a methamphetamine problem in South Carolina for sure – but help is right across the border.

“Methamphetamine is a constant threat in the state of South Carolina. In the last year there has been a slight increase in methamphetamine seizures pivotal to the steady decrease documented between 2005 and 2007. This spurt, in spite of recently passed state and federal laws prohibiting the sale of methamphetamine HCl precursors, may be attributed to traffickers using alternative methods for processing methamphetamine or Ice. Mexico and local suppliers are the primary sources for methamphetamine in the state with Atlanta reported as a source city. Typically, the drug is transported from Mexico, California, and Atlanta by private vehicle using I-20 and I-95.”
